What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

The idea behind the Save a Life Initiative is simple. Take the same advanced life-saving training we developed for physicians, and give it to the underserved, at home and abroad at no cost. We work in conjunction with the Disque Foundation to fulfill its mission of advancing health care education to the underserved through advanced technology. When we put the knowledge, skills and ability to perform CPR and other proven techniques in the hands of people around the world, the potential number of lives saved is almost overwhelming. Save a Life Certifications by NHCPS, the Disque Foundation and you. Together, let’s save lives.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Our goal is to empower one million people by the year 2020 through the Save a Life Initiative. The initiative was set up to integrate our partnership with NHCPS in order to provide lifesaving education like CPR, ACLS, PALS.

Our strategy to reach our goal consists of having multiple processes simultaneously reaching out to organizations to create sustainable partnerships. We are utilizing social media, grassroots prospecting and communication with other non-profit organizations as well as for-profit companies.

Our organization is currently empowering about 550 people per day on average and growing. We have increased it by 100/day since 2016. We were able to hire new staff that have the expertise to augment our current culture and processes with the contacts and work ethic to facilitate accomplishing not only our goal but also fulfilling our mission.

As of 2020, we hit 3,00,000 empowered. Each quarter we have increased our daily average empowered to

Data
  • We review compensation data across the organization (and by staff levels) to identify disparities by race.
  • We employ non-traditional ways of gathering feedback on programs and trainings, which may include interviews, roundtables, and external reviews with/by community stakeholders.
  • We have long-term strategic plans and measurable goals for creating a culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
Policies and processes
  • We have a promotion process that anticipates and mitigates implicit and explicit biases about people of color serving in leadership positions.
  • We have community representation at the board level, either on the board itself or through a community advisory board.
  • We engage everyone, from the board to staff levels of the organization, in race equity work and ensure that individuals understand their roles in creating culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
