DAKOTABILITIES
Opportunities for People with Disabilities
Programs and results
What we aim to solve
DakotAbilities provides services for adults with disabilities. The need for our services is growing faster than the organization can provide. One reason is DakotAbilities serves the entire state of South Dakota. Many people with disabilities in rural areas are moving to Sioux Falls in order to receive needed services because the health care in their home town is not adequate.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Meaningful Day
Meaningful Day offers experiences and opportunities for the people we serve. They now have the opportunities to garden, create artwork, be in theater productions, learn wellness through exercise and cooking, and participate in music programs. All experiences are based on the desires expressed by each participant.
Residential Services
DakotAbilities oversees 22 residential settings. All locations are staffed 24/7. DakotAbilities also offers 24-hour nursing care.
Therapy Services
DakotAbilities offers physical, occupational, and speech therapy. We also will work with the individuals to determine their best way to communicate and provide any devices that may be needed.
