What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Global Colorectal Cancer Congress
Each Spring, the GCCA hosts the annual Global Colorectal Cancer Congress. This virtual event brings together advocates from leading colorectal cancer organizations to share best practices on being an effective advocate. The event is designed for staff and volunteers of patient advocacy organizations, patients, survivors, and advocates.
Advocacy and Policy Work
The GCCA is a leader in the healthcare policy arena. We are frequently invited to present our perspective on important healthcare issues being address around the globe.
Know Your Biomarker
Know Your Biomarker, Know Your Choices. Biomarker testing can open up treatment options. Based on your tumor, you may have a genetic mutation that may respond to a targeted treatment therapy. To learn about personalized medicine, and how biomarker testing can impact your treatment plan, visit www.knowyourbiomarker.org.
Clinical Trial Awareness Program
Clinical trials offer hope to patients. Through advances in science, more effective treatment, testing and screening options will be available. The GCCA's Clinical Trial Awareness Program seeks to educate patients and caregivers, and to dispel common myths about clinical trials.
Biosimilars Training Program
Biologic medicines are utilized by patients affected by many diseases. Biosimilars, which are similar to a biologic drug, but is not an identical copy, can increase the access and affordability of biologics therapies. However, it is critical that what is best for the patient remains at the heart of biosimilar policies as they are developed around the world. Visit www.LearnBiosimilars.org to take the 6-hour training at no cost.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Our goal is to effectuate change in policies that will increase colon cancer screening rates, access to quality medicines and for policies that put all patients first.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We are convening an Access Advisory Committee which will guide the GCCA on creating access to quality screenings and medicines. We will increase our in person forums and conferences to help effectuate change in underserved countries.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
We are in the process of creating a top quality Access Advisory Counsel who are leaders in the field of increasing access in targeted countries. Our funding over this past year has increased as has the number of corporate donors. With a continued growth of donors and revenue, our impact will increase.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We are having our first conference in 2016 in Latin America. 500 attendees will learn from experts from around the world on best practices in colorectal cancer screening, awareness and access to therapies.
