3R Rescue

Rescue, Rehabilitation and Rehoming Animals in Need

aka 3R Rescue   |   Winters, CA 95694, CA   |  www.3rrescue.org

Mission

We rescue dogs from rural and under-sourced shelters that do not have adequate medical support, staff or facilities and few potential adopters coming to the shelter. Euthanasia rates at these shelters are extremely high (as much as 80-90%). Many of our dogs come directly off the euthanasia list or from the kill room.
Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home animals in need of a second chance. They are provided medical care, quality nutrition and the opportunity to de-stress and socialize in a home environment, enabling them to be 'good citizens' in their new life.

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Waggin Train

We rescue groups of dogs (up to 20 in each Waggin Train) to provide to our out of state Rescue Partners. 3R provides complete medical care including spay/neuter, vaccines, etc. We also provide dietary and emotional/behavioral support before they are transported to approved partners who don't have enough dogs for adoption in their area.

Population(s) Served

We are located near the University of California at Davis. We have developed several internship positions that are available to undergraduate students. They can earn credits or hours of community service. They become Team Leads, Event Coordinators, dog trainers, or office coordinators.
