Our programs

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Fire Ecology Restoration Project

Catastrophic wildfire across the continent calls for communities, permaculture designers and land stewards to take action to support and restore our forests. Understanding forest and fire ecology, indigenous practices and imitating nature, PINA is bringing novel tools and equipment to the fore to allow fire to resume its restorative role in forests. By reducing forest and undergrowth density to match historic conditions, converting waste biomass to biochar, and returning the biochar to the forest soil, we are increasing wildfire resilience, restoring ecological balance and reconnecting people to their landscapes.
