What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Student Transition Enrichment Program (S.T.E.P.)

S.T.E.P. is a 5 week internship designed to help disadvantaged (disabilities , poverty, homeless, broken-home etc.) high school students transition from high school to the workforce. Students will learn the very basic requirements for obtaining and maintaining meaningful employment. They will also learn how to become their own advocate without having to depend on the school system and/or their guardian to communicate their needs. Each work project is designed to give the students the opportunity to plan, design, delegate and supervise. They will learn the valuable character traits of respect, punctuality, responsibility and integrity.

Population(s) Served
Young adults

Hope Retreat Ranch offers equine-assisted therapeutic riding to children with disabilities. We serve the children of Eastern Oklahoma County without discrimination. Our sessions currently run in the evenings, Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from April through October. We structure individual sessions to specifically address the needs of our clients. This allows them time to bond with their therapy horse outside the arena workout. This process also allows family members time to feel involved and engaged in each visit to the Ranch.

Population(s) Served
Children and youth

Hope Retreat Ranch provides field trip experiences for the senior community of Eastern Oklahoma County. Our Honored Elders program provides an opportunity for residents of local assisted living, senior housing and adult daycare facilities to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine of Hope Retreat Ranch, play games and learn a little bout horses. They enjoy a "hands on" moment with our miniature horses. Their picnic at the Ranch is always an exciting experience.
