What we aim to solve
We are working to help individuals recognize and achieving positive mental wellness in their lives.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Silicone Bracelet Campaign
By spreading the simple yet powerful message "You Matter To Me," to through our UMTR2ME silicone bracelet, the UMTR2ME bracelet are our primary means of outreach.
Individuals are encouraged to not only wear a UMTR2ME bracelet but to share their personal bracelet with anyone they come across who take the time to share their own personal story.
We replace gifted bracelets at no cost to the gifting individuals.
1-on-1 Mentor Session
Realizing nothing can substitute a personal one on one interaction, this program is a peer led meeting conducted by a UMTR2ME team member. Individuals complete a preliminary intake form online before being scheduled for a meeting.
For those who live within San Diego County meetings are typically conducted in person while meetings for anyone outside San Diego County are conducted via Skype.
Text 2 Talk
Realizing at times it may be easier to text than talk when a person finds themselves at the heights of depression or thoughts of suicide, UMTR2ME launched the Text 2 Talk campaign.
This program encourages individuals who find themselves in a crisis situation to text UMTR2ME to 741741 to be connected with trained crisis personnel.
Founder Speaking Engagements
UMTR2ME Founder, Jimm Greer has a powerful story that is both very real and personal in which he openly shares about his struggles with mental illness, his attempt at suicide during his senior year of high school, and how he ultimately found hope in the midst of his hopelessness.
Jimm has shared his story with small private groups and large assemblies. Attendees have included middle school, high school and college students, military personnel, community and church groups.
Jimm’s story is unique in that it encompasses his life from 10 years old up to adulthood. All of which, have been greatly impacted by his mental illness.
Honorary Ambassador Program
Honorary Ambassadors can be found in schools and communities across the globe and are recognized for their unsolicited commitment to helping others without seeking self-recognition.
In addition to being highlighted on our website and social media platforms, ambassadors also receive a certificate of recognition, a letter of appreciation.
UMTR2ME Zoo Day
This program offers individuals the opportunity to take a break from the daily stresses of life by spending a worry-free day at either the San Diego Zoo or the San Diego Safari Park.
We offer this program as way to connect on a more personal level with those in our community who need a little extra support and an uninhibited breath of fresh air.
Suicide Attempter's Support Group (SASG)
We are working on a potential support group for those who have attempted suicide that will meet over a 4-6-week period.
The meetings would follow a specific structure aimed at helping individuals work towards recognizing and achieving positive mental wellness in their lives.
Connecting w/Coffee
This program gives individuals the opportunity to have an in person, face-face connection and to connect over a cup of coffee while having a non-judgmental and confidential conversation about whatever topic is on your mind, be it politics, religion, social issues, fashion, social media trends, relationships or maybe something a little deeper and more personal, you name it.
Individuals who live in Southern California and would like to set up a Connecting w/Coffee session can email to [email protected] fro more details.
Impact Ambassador Program
Impact Ambassadors can be found in schools and communities across the globe and choose to help spread the mission of UMTR2ME by starting conversations about mental illness and suicide.
They are also the all so important bridge between those needing help and local resources available to offer help.
