Mission

To provide a God-centered, non-denominational, relaxing time for women of all ages to come together in unity, love and peace to build relationships with Christ and each other.

Notes from the nonprofit

Our aim is to reach hurting women with a relaxing weekend and Christian support, so that they leave feeling they have the tools and support to help themselves through their situation. These women are frequently unable to afford a retreat. Your donations are crucial to provide scholarships, program materials and advertising to attract and empower these women. Thank you for supporting Lydia Ministries Retreats.

Lydia Ministries Retreat

Lydia Ministries is a Christian nonprofit designed to support all women, especially those hurting or in conflict. We offer our retreats at a minimum cost for women to feel welcome and supported, and to provide emotional healing and a relaxing weekend without judgement. Our goal is for these women to let go of their cares for a time and feel free to be themselves. We use worship, music, community service projects, small group interaction, large group lessons, large group meals and individual relationship building to achieve our goals. The women we target are frequently unable to afford a retreat. Scholarships and program donations are critical to our success. Our future plans include Christian lay counseling services, additional retreats and conferences.

Charting impact

Five powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

What is the organization aiming to accomplish?

Lydia Ministries currently holds one annual retreat. We support the women involved throughout the year, by keeping in touch with them and answering their needs when they reach out to us.

Our future goals include:
Additional yearly retreats. We keep each retreat small, to allow for individual and small group contact.
Adding more retreats, which would allow us to reach more women.
Adding conferences to help equip women with the tools for success.
Adding lay counseling services for women throughout Western Washington.

First, we plan to secure additional funding from corporate sponsors, churches, grants, private donors and other means.
We plan to train our leadership team in lay counseling to be able to offer these services in the communities where we live.
Our leadership team meets monthly to plan and prepare for our retreats and further our goals.
We are actively recruiting new leadership team members to add to our base of expertise, knowledge and imagination.

We have a dedicated and hard-working leadership team and many volunteers who help with planning and coordination.
We have grant writers and speakers to present our needs to the community and access additional funding.
We have an unlimited source of imagination to help us expand and reach our potential.

Progress will be measured by the funding we receive and the number of ladies we are able to reach.
As our programs expand and grow, we will be able to chart our success.

We have presented seven annual Sisters in Christ Retreats. Each one was a huge success and feedback from attendees has always been overwhelmingly positive.
Our retreat venues have grown and our professionalism has continued to improve each year.
We are reaching more ladies every year and continuing to impact their lives in positive ways.

We have not yet obtained donations to enable us to include all the ladies who want to attend our retreats.
We have not reached the number of attendees to allow us to offer more than one retreat per year.
We are not at a point to be able to offer conferences yet. We are in the preliminary planning stages.
We are not yet able to provide lay counseling services. Our leadership team is looking into training for this purpose.
