Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Run For The Stripes, Inc was formed to raise awareness and funds for Neuroendocrine Cancer research. Neuroendocrine Tumors (NET) are a rare form of cancer that is often misdiagnosed and can takes years to receive the correct diagnosis. Currently there is no cure for NET Cancers. Run For The Stripes, Inc host a 5K run/walk and 1 mile family fun run at the Philadelphia Zoo each November to support the NET community, raise awareness and funds for NET cancers. All proceeds from the race go to University of Pennsylvania's Abramson Cancer Center designated for Neuroendocrine Cancer research.

Run For The Stripes, Inc works to raise awareness and funds for research for Neuroendocrine Cancer by hosting an annual 5K run/walk, having a web site (www.racefornet.com) with information regarding how patients continue to be active, a link on the web site to a news feature focusing on Neuroendocrine cancers, and having a facebook page to encourage a sense of community.

Run For The Stripes, Inc has an all volunteer board and no paid staff members. Our goal is to keep expenses down so that all proceeds from events can be donated to Neuroendocrine Cancer research to find better treatment options and hopefully a cure in the near future. By hosting a 5K run/walk each year we are able to foster a sense of community for those suffering from Neuroendocrine Cancer and their friends and family who help support them through their treatments. Also, the 5K run/walk encourages patients to stay active, whether they are currently in treatment or not.

The first year, 2012, the Run For The Stripes 5K run/walk was held, $7500.00 was donated to University of Pennsylvania's Abramson Cancer Center designated for Neuroendocrine Cancer research. After year 7, our total contributions have reached $285,000.
