Veterans Base Camp

"We've Got Your Six"

aka Veterans Base Camp and Community Training Center   |   Chaplin, CT   |  https://www.veteransbasecampinc.org/

Mission

We advocate for and partner with veterans, service members, their families, and those at risk in our community to identify, access, and secure resources necessary to achieve their goals. Utilizing a "strengths-based" team approach, we create and implement cutting-edge, evidence-based, holistic, collaborative "systems of support" that inspire and facilitate hope and healing in those we serve. Through this process we Identify/create access points to optimize the veteran/first responder/youth's strengths and talents in a supportive environment. We will stand side-by-side, partnering with veterans, first responders and those who are vulnerable in our community, through education, training, employment and community integration to assist you in reaching your personal goals.

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

R.E.S.E.T Program

R.E.S.E.T is an acronym for: Regroup, Evaluate, Strategize, Engage and Track. R.E.S.E.T is a short-term diversion-housing program for Veterans returning from deployment or who are going through a life transition where they find they need some time to reflect on where they are at, where they want to go and get support to find a way to make it happen.
Veterans Base Camp's R.E.S.E.T program is not just a “housing” program, it is a supportive 100% sober (no smoking, drugs, alcohol or firearms on the grounds) transitional housing program, which is designed to
give you the opportunity to “Regroup,” “Evaluate” where you are at at this point in your life. Through your active participation with your “team” made up of: You, VBC staff, and any other persons you wish that know you and support you, will actively “Strategize,” to create your “person-centered-plan” (PCP), identify your short and long-term goals that will assist you in achieving independent-living status, and your social/emotional/vocational/relational goals.
VBC will work alongside you to support you to “Engage” those identified strategies and “Track” your progress to help ensure your success.
