This collective resource armed with a three year outcome driven Strategic Plan, makes Advancing Macomb well positioned to bring necessary leadership and collaboration to the communities of Macomb County.

Our past work toward this mission has resulted in successful community projects in the areas of placemaking, arts and cultures, environmental quality and recreation. Our programming is focused in the following areas:

1. fiscal sponsorship and fiduciary support
2. data collection
3. convening and connecting resources for public benefit and social impact including
funding and volunteers
4. cross sector collaboration

In 2018, the organization recognized a need for focused attention in the city of Mt. Clemens. The city was struggling in recovering from the last recession, more so then surrounding communities. Advancing Macomb hosted a summit to discover what priorities residents and business owners wanted to see in the city. As a result, the city received comprehensive data to use for future decision making and planning efforts.

We also used that data to secure additional resources for quality of life improvements in the city. We partnered with several organizations in the city on four successful projects; 1 focused on placemaking through art and 3 focused on recreation.
