Programs and results
What we aim to solve
Donor retention and growth of donor base is an issue exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. We are receiving more applications for help due to layoffs that are the result of the pandemic.

Goals & Strategy
Learn about the organization's key goals, strategies, capabilities, and progress.
Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
We fund non-routine, life-saving veterinary care for the pets of low-income families. In order to fund as many cases as possible, we have significantly reduced operating expenses in 2021 to date and strive to continue on that path.
We also hope to attract estate bequests and submit successful grant applications.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Our mission is to help as many low-income families as possible by funding unexpected pet medical emergencies they are unable to afford. We fund these cases through donations we receive from the public. In order to help more families, we need more donations and our strategies for acquiring more donors are:
1. Aggressive marketing of our mission.
2. Increased brand recognition.
3. Optimization of our donor management/CRM software in order to more effective in identifying and targeting specific donors.
4. Grant-writing to apply to organizations that share our passion for helping animals in need and their human families.
5. Outreach to organizations where we can find additional avenues for donor acquisition.
6. Adding additional best practices to our applicant vetting process, such as reviewing tax returns and/or bank statements.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
1. We have streamlined our staff through attrition.
2. We subscribe to a robust CRM/Donor Management platform that we are optimizing.
3. We have over 250,000 followers on Facebook that we have an opportunity to engage as recurring donors.
4. We have a Program Manager that is very good at appealing to our core donors and she will continue to build on that.
5. We have a system for acknowledging our significant donors and earning their loyalty.
6. We have the financial resources to invest in more robust marketing.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
So Far:
Since our inception in 2013, we have funded over $1.5 million in veterinary care for the pets of low-income families.
We have helped with over 1400 cases, approximately 200 per year.
We have thousands of small donors, with big hearts that are passionate about our mission. Many of them are recurring monthly donors.
We have several donors that support us with four-figure donations annually.
What's Next:
We will continue to build on what has been successful and analyze what has been less successful.
Our outreach will continue to gain access to new potential donors.
