Let Out Your Art
Upturn arts curriculum focuses on offering every student the opportunity to learn the foundations of music, dance, theater and visual arts. Each genre is explored in various style and techniques depending on the instructor's background. A few examples are: Music- African drumming, singing, theory, song writing, strings, etc; Dance- creative movement, ballet, hip hop, jazz, modern, social, etc; Theater- improvisation, stage combat, script writing, film, etc; Visual Art- drawing, painting, collage, beading, mixed media, etc. Once the students understand and can implement these skills the instructors guide the students to create their individual works. We offer after-school, summer camp, and holiday programs
Upturn Arts is a fun and creative program that teaches children in the New Orleans community to explore and build confidence in themselves as artists. We believe in providing arts enrichment opportunities for all children, and never turn students away due to financial restraints. Upturn Arts provides after school and day-long summer and holiday programming at our main site, NOLA Spaces, opening our doors to all children in the New Orleans community.
