Mission

Together We Heal is for those who have suffered the trauma of childhood sexual abuse (CSA). It exists to provide guidance to those in need, educate any who seek information on how to better protect our children and to expose sexual predators methods. Together we can do all of these things and begin the process of healing. TWH works with Schools, Religious groups, Civic organizations or in a home full of concerned parents. Our desire is to prevent children from enduring the trauma of CSA, and to help those who have already been harmed begin the process of healing. TWH exists to provide a safe forum for victims of abuse to share, learn and heal.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Together We Heal's goals are to help survivors of childhood sexual abuse begin steps toward healing and to educate the public through teaching and training.

Together We Heal offers personal guidance for survivors and in-person training about childhood sexual abuse for organizations.

Together We Heal travels across the USA in a number of formats to teach and train organizations about all matters surrounding childhood sexual abuse.

In 2019 TWH paid for the therapy of 12 survivors. We connected 31 survivors with trauma-informed therapists/counselors/coaches.

Trained 6 churches and 2 schools in Child Safeguarding.

Goals are to raise more funds to be able to offer therapy to more survivors. Establish even larger network of contacts of trauma-informed therapists.

Data
  • We ask team members to identify racial disparities in their programs and / or portfolios.
  • We disaggregate data to adjust programming goals to keep pace with changing needs of the communities we support.
  • We employ non-traditional ways of gathering feedback on programs and trainings, which may include interviews, roundtables, and external reviews with/by community stakeholders.
  • We have long-term strategic plans and measurable goals for creating a culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
Policies and processes
  • We use a vetting process to identify vendors and partners that share our commitment to race equity.
  • We engage everyone, from the board to staff levels of the organization, in race equity work and ensure that individuals understand their roles in creating culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
