What we aim to solve
While there are more than a billion Christians throughout Africa and Asia, there is often little difference in the lives of believers and their communities because of their faith in Christ. Believing that God only cares about spiritual things, they ignore issues like child mortality, food shortages, corruption, neglect of people with disabilities, and violence against women. As a result, their communities remain in poverty, injustice is rampant, and God is not glorified as He should be. While international relief and development programs bring help, many communities struggle to see lasting transformation. Reconciled World partners with local churches and organizations—challenging them to engage with brokenness in their communities, steward well what God has given them, and pray for solutions to long-term problems. We also bring training to help them develop appropriate skills in health & hygiene, nutrition, money management, agriculture, and engaging with disability.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Truth Centered Transformation
The Truth Centered Transformation (TCT) program is actually incredibly simple. It’s made up of ten trainings that take place over five years. These trainings focus on teaching truth and basic life skills. We challenge churches to act on truth even before they fully believe it. As believers start to walk in obedience to God, the lies that have held them in poverty for generations are broken.
The first three trainings are focused exclusively on bringing truth to lies and on challenging churches to show God’s love to their community through simple Acts of Love. The next three trainings cover life skills such as health, money and family. The seventh training is a reminder of why we are doing all of this—to glorify God. Trainings eight and nine cover agriculture and evangelism. Number Ten reviews the previous five years.
Our trainers usually live near the churches and are of the same ethnic group as the church. They all work part-time and serve as pastors of churches when not working with us. These trainers regularly visit the churches to help them overcome challenges and to keep them focused on bringing glory to God.

Goals & Strategy

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Our long-term goals are:
1. God is glorified, as people see that the Christian God is powerful and loving.
2. Churches are strengthened, so they are filled with Christians who are walking in obedience to God in all areas of life and excited to be part of building God’s Kingdom.
3. Vulnerable people and communities see their physical, social, and mental needs met while growing closer to God.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We partner with local churches, denominations, and non-profit organizations to operate 6 programs in the Majority World:
Truth Centered Transformation (TCT) - A rural church discipleship program operating in more than 25 countries
Worldview Training Initiative - Helping churches address gender-based violence and other worldview issues in India
In His Image - A center for students with autism in India
Wholistic Development Center - a vocational training and discipleship school in Southeast Asia
The Create Commission - A ministry to and through artists.
Churches Stronger - Delivering practical lessons that are easy-to-access on low-data platforms for Majority World pastors.
Each of our programs is based on the seven principles of our Framework for Transformation:
Depending on God
Nurturing Truth and Confronting Lies
Integrating Physical and Spiritual
Partnering with Churches
Focusing on the Vulnerable
Mobilizing Local Resources
Pursuing God’s Ways
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
The goals of God’s glory, strong churches, and transformed communities are well beyond anything we could hope to achieve with well-designed programs or human effort. Only God can bring transformation. Any capability we have in reaching these goals comes from dependence on God, answered prayer, and willingness to look foolish in obedience to Him. We invest significantly in prayer personally, as an organization, and in raising a network of prayer supporters.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Our first goal is that God is glorified. Here’s a snapshot of what God has done so far: Many of the areas where we first started were hostile to Christianity. So Christians kept to themselves and tried to avoid problems. Today, in almost all the original TCT areas, the people in both the community and government recognize that the Christian God is powerful, and they appreciate the Christian influence in their area. 94 percent of churches in those original areas report that those in the community are much more open to the gospel, and 92 percent have seen the government become supportive.
Our second goal is that churches are strengthened. There are various ways in which we see churches struggling. Many people within local churches have made a decision for Christ out of fear of hell, rather than a real desire to know God. In one country, denominational leaders shared that many of their rural pastors aren’t even saved. Where access to scripture is limited and literacy is low, people simply haven’t had the opportunity to learn much about the God they serve. Most rural churches in the Majority World receive only a few pennies in their offering each week. And in all countries, there are cultural and societal beliefs—that men are more valuable than women, for example—that have yet to be replaced with biblical truth. An evaluation in our original TCT program area showed:
89 percent of churches report an increase in church attendance.
98 percent of churches saw a significant increase in tithing and 96 percent saw an increase in those willing to serve.
In our Ending Gendercide program, we’ve seen an increase in husbands attending church with their wives, an increase in women in leadership positions, and churches growing as battered women see the church as a place to receive help.
Our third goal is to see transformation among vulnerable people and communities. Here are a few examples of the results we’ve seen.
In His Image has seen dozens of families shift from treating their autistic children as a burden and curse to helping them reach their God-given potential; as of October 2020, 6 adult students had obtained mainstream employment—a huge and unfortunately rare accomplishment for people with autism in India.
In the original TCT program area:
children attending middle school jumped from 16 percent of to 78 percent; high school attendance grew from 5 percent to 30 percent.
Illiteracy levels dropped from an average of 67 percent to 32 percent as churches ran literacy programs in their communities.
Incomes increased community-wide by an average of 5-10X.
Use of latrines increased from 5 percent to more than 80 percent. 83 percent of churches built latrines as an Act of Love.
