LISAS ARMY INC
Comforting Those Battling Cancer
Programs and results
What we aim to solve
Our mission is to provide comfort and encouragement to individuals currently in cancer treatment. We wholeheartedly believe that caring people can make a positive difference to someone's well-being while they undergo cancer treatment. We do this by lovingly providing free Comfort Care Packages to men, women, and children. These packages include comfort items, an Apple iPad, and many items that provide encouragement. They have a monetary value of $600 but are priceless to the recipient because they know that people truly care about them. While most cancer organizations focus on research, we focus on helping comfort people today.

Regional Treatment Center Deliveries
Lisa's Army currently delivers Comfort Care Packages to eight cancer treatment centers on a regular basis. These packages are provided for free to men, women, and children battling any type of cancer. These packages include many comfort items and the latest Apple iPad so that they communicate with their family and keep their minds off of the treatment as much as possible.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Our ultimate goal is that every man, woman, and child battling cancer patient would receive a Comfort Care Package to provide some additional level of comfort and encouragement as part of their treatment. Until a cure for cancer is discovered, we want each and every cancer patient to know that many others care about them and their well-being.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We collect comfort items, make cards with words of encouragement, purchase critical comfort items, partner with other organizations, manage fundraising events and seek donations in order to supply cancer patients with a customized Comfort Care Package. 100% of all donations go directly to patients. We have a private donor that reimburses Lisa's Army for all of their administrative expenses. In addition, every staff member, our Board of Directors and volunteers are unpaid. Our strategy is simply that caring people that share our values will contribute to the mission once they are aware of the organization and its impact. Our challenge is to make more people aware of our organization so that we can act as a conduit to allow them to help.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
We survey many cancer patients, treatment center professionals, and caregivers to determine the best items to comfort someone going through cancer treatment. We collect or purchase these items and package them at our distribution facility before delivering them to the patients. Our 10 regular unpaid staff members have implemented the processes, security, and technology necessary to efficiently and effectively handle the fulfillment and delivery activities.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We have delivered over 1,500 Comfort Care Packages over the last three years and have experienced a 25% increase in growth per year since that time. We are now supplying one Comfort Care Package to a man, woman, or child battling cancer every day. This is a wonderful accomplishment that we hope to improve upon each year. We have also started to partner with many other caring organizations to increase our capacity.
