Quick Facts

SHAFTER, CA

Mission

The vision of the Shafter Symphony Orchestra (SSO) as an organization is to promote the enjoyment, enrichment and education of music as a fine art form. This is to be accomplished in several ways. SSO will make the orchestral repertoire and the orchestral concert experience available to local audiences by bringing a professional orchestra to Shafter on a regular basis. SSO will involve local musicians by actively sponsoring music activities in Shafter such as recitals and community concerts. SSO will support local music programs by providing opportunities for musical instruction and performance, and by creating occasions to hear live music and interact with professional musicians.
