Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Fleet of Angels Emergency Grants and Services
Fleet of Angels provides emergency grants and services for equines in crisis due to natural disasters and other situations that threaten quality of life for equines. Grants for emergency horse hay, urgent vet care, post-disaster repair expenses, and emergency transportation are available to qualified individuals and small equine rescues. FOA’s Bonded for Life grants help prevent permanent separation of bonded horses that are being rehomed during challenging times for owners. Almost 20,000 FOA members across America offer emergency evacuation and temporary stabling to protect horses when disasters threaten their safety.
FOA HayThere! Emergency Horse Hay Grant Program
Each year Fleet of Angels provides hundreds of emergency horse hay grants to horse owners and small rescues when natural disasters such as hurricanes, wildfires, floods, or other major crisis make providing sufficient hay for the horses in their care impossible.
Fleet of Angels uses an online, digital application process to establish the level of an applicant's need and to gather the information required for the grant to be approved. Grant recipients may apply for a second round after 60 days if the emergency situation has not been sufficiently resolved.
Fleet of Angels' goal for this program is to make it possible for equine victims of a crisis to be able to stay safe and healthy in their homes, rather than being separated from horses they're bonded with and sold or given away- possibly putting their lives in danger.
