What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Food Security
The much needed supplemental food provided by our program is minimally processed, fresh, nutritionally dense, and important to the health and welfare of food-insecure children.
Weekend backpack programs are at the forefront of assisting food-insecure kids to be well-fed through the weekend. In these backpacks distributed on Friday afternoons, kids take home snacks and entrees they can prepare themselves.
Advocacy
Advocacy initiatives focus on forming partnerships and acquiring resources to promote and support local farming, generate improved access to markets, and educate youth. Partners include state and local organizations that can assist EATS with increasing its community presence and becoming a voice for its communal needs and underrepresented citizens.
Education
Education initiatives are the cornerstone of EATS mission because with knowledge, individuals become empowered. The success of EATS dedication to educating children and their families is evidenced by the popularity of its classes and camps and the positive feedback in attendee testimonials.
Sustainability
Sustainability initiatives teach the next generation new habits that can affect positive change for the environment such as composting, regenerative agriculture and mindful dietary modifications. Education is primarily delivered in cooperation with the school district to accelerate the outreach efforts.
