What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Educational Grants

Fund teacher classroom grants, after school programs, outdoor educational programs, art education and other similar activities that directly or indirectly support knowledge and appreciation of the area, and/or will tie the communities of the Columbia Basin, Channeled Scablands and the Lower Grand Coulee together. Areas of education that may be supported include science, technology, arts, math, and social studies, as well as support for literacy, cultural awareness, health/social emotional and behavior wellness.

Partners include:
North Central Education Foundation (NCEF): $300 teacher classroom grants totaling $4500 per school year
Wahluke School District Literacy Program: $1500 per school year

FLGC sponsors 5th grade students' participation in the annual, Arts on the Avenues' Beauty of Bronze program which takes place in Wenatchee, WA each year. Royal School District: $600 for touring theater productions. We also sponsor youth participation in the Soap Lake, Masquers Theater summer camp.

A New Community Center
Since the beginning of our organization we’ve had a vision for a permanent space that can be used as a meeting and exhibit venue for promoting our mission of sharing the Lower Grand Coulee experience through arts and science education, exhibits and presentations. This space would be publicly available to other organizations with similar needs and purposes such as the Art Guild of the Soap Lake Area, Ice Age Floods Institute, Soap Lake Heritage, Soap Lake Conservancy, and Columbia Trails Association.
