What we aim to solve
Pay Away the Layaway is working hard to inject love, kindness, hope and unity across the United States. To do that, Pay Away the Layaway makes it easier for families purchasing children's items on layaway by paying off their remaining balance. We do a small part to help families that want their kids to have a great holiday or start the school year with a backpack, clothes or other essentials.

During the back to school season, Pay Away the Layaway visits cities across the United States to spread kindness and pay off layaway balances at stores like Burlington and Citi Trends filled with school supplies, kid's clothing and other essentials.

During the holiday season, Pay Away the Layaway visits cities across the United States and pays off layaway balances at stores like Burlington, Citi Trends, etc. with gifts, toys and other items for kids and families.

What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Pay Away the Layaway works to spread hope and kindness and show the world that there are so many great people that care about strangers. We hope to inject that love and kindness so recipients and people who hear our story are inspired to do the same or similar acts. We also want to make sure that every child has a present during the holidays and starts off the school year with all of the important essentials.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Pay Away the Layaway has a team of volunteers across the country that visit stores and surprise families with good news that their layaway balances have been paid off. We team up with celebrities and athletes to help spread our message and make the surprise events that much more special.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Pay Away the Layaway has grown every year and we have been fortunate to receive great media coverage from The Today Show to Good Morning America to most of the local news outlets.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We recently expanded into the Back to School season, two years ago and we also recently started helping families in areas impacted by hurricanes and other major weather events.
