What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Rescue Dog Placement Program
Through the Rescue Dog Placement Program VCAS selects dogs from rescues and shelters and matches them with veterans that can benefit from canine companionship and ownership. VCAS works to select the right dog for the veteran's lifestyle and needs. VCAS covers all of the costs of the placement, training and all veterinary care, food and supply expenses for the first year. VCAS partners with the veteran, providing needed support, education and community throughout the program.
