What we aim to solve
Parker County, located immediately West of the DFW metroplex, is one of the fastest growing counties in Texas. Weatherford, the County seat, sits at the geographic center of the County and is by far the largest population center in the area. The Weatherford City Council desires to increase quality of life offerings to the expanding population, especially those moving to the eastern part of the County as there are currently no significant fine arts programs for any aged population. The Foundation seeks to address the Council's stated appeal.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Building Program
The Foundation seeks to expand arts and cultural offerings in the greater Parker County area through development of 13.5 acres once part of international portrait artist Douglas Chandor's estate now owned by the City of Weatherford.
Master Plan
The Foundation contracted with Fort Worth, TX architects, Bennett Partners, and has received a Master Plan to construct additional parking, a visitor's center, an events center, and a visual and performing arts center on undeveloped 13.5 acres immediately West of the historic home and gardens. The plans have been incorporated in the City's Parks Master Plan and has been adopted by City Council.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Chandor Gardens Foundation is a relatively new organization with the goal of developing 13.5 acres West of Chandor Gardens, owned by the City of Weatherford, to provide citizens with arts and cultural venues not currently available in this fast-growing region of North Texas.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
The Foundation has engaged the services of the highly respected architectural firm Benner-Bennett of Fort Worth to develop the initial footprint of buildings and structures on the undeveloped 13.5 acre property West of the existing Gardens.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
The Foundation has raised funds to retain the Bennett-Benner architectural firm, and has funds available for an economic analysis and cost estimate to support future fund raising efforts.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
The Foundation has offered, and continues to offer, varied programs to the public which have expanded the profile of the Foundation and the Gardens. One of the more popular programs has been in conjunction with the Cliburn Foundation which has brought classical pianists and chamber music orchestras to the Gardens, and has provided exposure to classical music to students in grades 2-4. Our speaker series has become a popular draw, and the Foundation will continue to seek informative and entertaining speakers for this series.
