What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Music-Education.org
A free online music education portal where students can take music courses based on the Bruce Arnold System of music education aligns the way music is taught with the way the brain functions, and the way music is played with the way the body works. The method combines the techniques and ideas developed by master teachers with innovations from Arnold’s observations of musical ergonomics, and his own experiences teaching and playing.
Steam-education.org
But this website is dedicated to showing how the Art of music enhances, and is inter-related to science, technology, engineering and mathematics
A 21st century musician uses a combination of science, technology, engineering and mathematics every day in their career. From the very structure of Western music, which is mathematical, to the use of technological music applications, and programming, on to the use of statistical data in planning a publicity campaign, or a tour, today’s musician must be versed in STEM!
It goes further: The musician who plays an instrument must understand the biology of his or her own body as it relates to that instrument. Modern composers now use set theory, permutations and algorithms to create works of art.
Music Performance and Technology
The main purpose of MP-AT.org is to teach performance and technology skills. Each workshop has lectures that encourage student participation and ensemble classes where students can directly apply the skills they are mastering. Because Technology plays an ever increasing role in the creation of contemporary music, from composing and performing to editing and mastering, there are Music Technology classes ranging from audio applications using PDAs to full blown DAWs. Classes cover a wide range of PDA audio applications, and more complex programs such as ProTools, Triple Play, Finale, and Sibelius.
The workshops cover many musical styles ranging from blues to straight ahead jazz, rock, country, blues, and metal. Each of the faculty members is both well known, and well versed in these styles. All of the above-mentioned musical genres are treated as art forms that require serious study. To that end, courses in Ear Training, Time, and Technique, all utilizing the Bruce Arnold System are a feature of the curriculum. The Bruce Arnold System of music education aligns the way music is taught with the way the brain functions, and the way music is played with the way the body works. The method combines the techniques and ideas developed by master teachers with innovations from Arnold’s observations of musical ergonomics, and his own experiences teaching and playing. The system has been refined over thirty years of development and has proven results.
Currently the main instruments taught at this camp are Guitar, Bass, Drums and Keyboards, however instrumentalists of any kind, and especially vocalists, will find work with the Bruce Arnold System to be particularly useful.
Jazz and roots Cincinnati
Jazz and Roots is a community arts center that will provide Cincinnati and the greater Cincinnati area with arts enrichment through performances, education and outreach programs. Our programs celebrate and explore Jazz and American Roots music and the impact that this music has had on our cultural and society. Through the study and appreciation of jazz, folk, rock, bluegrass and other uniquely American musical styles we inspire and enrich our community.

Goals & Strategy
Learn about the organization's key goals, strategies, capabilities, and progress.
Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
through physical workshops, music educational apps for mobile devices, LMS style music educational website and educational materials provided by muse-eek.com we hope to position ourselves as a major player in free music education worldwide. We hope that through grants and donations we can make our physical workshops free. We also hope to partner with many veterans administration locations to provide music education to PTSD vets.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We are actively soliciting grants for our PTSD vets program and outreaching to students to work as unpaid interns to help with the development of our online music education websites and our music education apps for mobile devices.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
In the summer of 2015 we had 10 unpaid interns that built two websites:
http://music–education.org
http://steam–education.org
and three music educational apps:
http://brucearnoldfoundation.org/free-music-education-apps/
We have also partnered with KLOS Guitars, Muse-eek.com and top music clinicians to provide guitars, educational materials and physical workshops for PTSD Vets. We have received great interest from the Veterans Administration's in our area who will provide space, storage and clinical psychologists to evaluate our programs and their impact on veterans health.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
we have finished to websites during the summer months of 2015 and will be adding more content to each overtime. We are also planning for more music educational workshops in the summer of 2016. We have not received a grant to go forward with our PTSD vets program but are actively finishing grant applications and consulting with various nonprofit companies to help us present a cohesive program.
