TRUE NORTH YOUTH PROGRAM

We provide group mentoring programs and activities for teens that are structured around the five components of our organizational plan.

I. Career/Trades Training and Life Skills: We offer ongoing experiences for teens to meet with professionals in the business community to learn about potential career paths. We set up opportunities for teens to learn about specific trades or skills as an apprentice with a master trade person, artisan, or expert. We offer life skill classes such as financial literacy, social etiquette, and interviewing skills.

II. Service Learning: Through partnerships, we offer opportunities for the youth to give back to their local community through diverse service projects.

III. Scholarship & Academic Coaching: This involvement is customized for particular teens, and includes academic tutoring, coaching, and assistance in researching and navigating the college application and financial aid challenges.

IV: Wilderness Adventures: We organize experiential outings in the outdoors with trained volunteer leaders. This is where teens gain leadership skills and are offered the opportunity to overcome physical and mental challenges, all the time engaging in team building.

V. Year-Round Outings & Activities: We operate after-school, weekend, and summer programming on a year-round basis to provide consistency and continuity for youth who have none, or limited, engagement in extra-curricular activities.
