North Texas Patriot Anglers
Helping veterans move forward
Programs and results
What we aim to solve
The biggest problem our organization has right now is trying to address our lack of funding so as to help more veterans. The roster of sick/wounded vets in north Texas is large as is our desire to help them.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Broken Bow Outings
3-day fly fishing and healing trip to allow wounded veterans to get away and meet and talk with other veterans about their common issues.
Lake Fork Outing
One-day bass fishing outings for wounded military veterans to get together, talk, and heal from their experiences
Angel Fire
Three day fly fishing trip to the Rio Grande and Red Rivers in New Mexico.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Help as many Veterans as possible.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Our strategy is to present each Veteran an outing that presents them a chance to develop a new skill, enjoy the tranquility and calming nature of the outdoors all the while making new friends and contacts. Trying to get veterans to open up about their experiences and current difficulties is paramount for them to start the healing process. Getting them out of isolation and starting them interacting with others with similar issues has tremendous benefits.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Our organization is filled with Patriotic Volunteers, both civilian and veteran, with incredible individual skills in the art of fly fishing willing to come together as a team to create a healing environment for the individual participants.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
In 6 years we have now taken over 1500 Veterans in fly fishing outings. What’s next will be determined by the kindness of others. Our lone chapter here in North Texas is about as full as it can get while sustaining the individual and personal needs of each veteran. As we attempt to help all veterans from the North Texas/Southern Oklahoma/Southwest Arkansas/Northeast Louisiana area, we would love to see that large area broken down and have someone open other chapters to deal with their local population. Additional chapters is our future goal.
