Programs and results
What we aim to solve
There are, at minimum $6.7 million people who are out of work. Many more work 2 or more jobs to make ends meet. Still others work, but at jobs they hate and that suck their souls dry. We want to change that. We believe that everyone has the right to meaningful employment; meaningful in that it pays the bills and feeds their soul. We support people as they do that.

Pivot Points - Baby Steps to Change
A pivot can refer to many things - traditionally, the point of rotation in a lever system, the center point of any rotational system, a kind of joint between bones in the body or a dance move. In more contemporary parlance, a pivot is a change in direction.
At do-over.me, PIVOT POINTS are radically simple, practical shifts that promote resiliency and forward movement.

Goals & Strategy
Learn about the organization's key goals, strategies, capabilities, and progress.
Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
We provide professional support to anyone who is in job search regardless of their income. We offer our services on a sliding scale so that they are affordable, but that the member also has "skin" in the games. Costs as subsidized through fundraising, donations and grants. We believe in leveling the playing field and providing equity.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We provide both one-on-one and group programs to all our member; working with them , not for them to teach and grow their skills and talents. We meet each person where they are providing a personalized, not a cookie cutter response to individual needs. We also offer a long term mentor to support each member on their journey.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
We work primarily with a volunteer staff made up of interns, retired workers and active business people to provide our services.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We are celebrating 5 years in 2019. During that time we have influenced the lives of over 800 people and found jobs for just over 200. We have a strong and active presence in Kane County and are now moving into western Cook County to reach more people. We are growing our virtual presence too; adapting programming to meet the needs of a virtual audience.
Many are predicting another recession. When that happens we will be able to provide the support that people are looking for.
