Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
The Spencer C. Duncan Make It Count Foundation has established a goal to honor and assist our military veterans and their families in our community. The goal will include additional research to identify the needs of veterans trying to enroll in local educational institutions, and determine where funds can best be used by the institutions to serve their student veteran population.
An additional goal is to identify sources for additional funding to support veterans that are struggling with the effects of trauma and post-traumatic stress. The foundation will continue to build the resources and donor support to meet these specific needs.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
The Spencer C. Duncan Make It Count Foundation has developed a primary strategy for focused outreach to convey the primary mission of the foundation and tell the story of Army Specialist Spencer Duncan and his sacrifice. This strategy includes a strengthening of existing relationships with various founding donors and sponsors, and developing new relationships with companies that have a passion for supporting military veterans and their families.
The Spencer C. Duncan Make It Count Foundation is recognized as a reputable and trustworthy foundation, and will continue to provide a conduit for donated funds to be granted to serve many different beneficiaries.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
The Spencer C. Duncan Make It Count Foundation has experienced significant growth each year since the founding of the organization. The foundation is an all-volunteer organization and the volunteer support from the community has been a major factor in the ability of the foundation to continue to serve veterans. This strong volunteer base has increased the foundation's capability to meet the primary objectives and goals.
The fundraising outreach has been greatly successful. The donor contributions and grants have increased consistently over the total years of the foundation's existence. Several donors have remained with the foundation from the very beginning through the current year. It is anticipated that the fundraising activities will continue to strengthen the ability of the foundation to increase our support of veterans and meet more needs.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
The Spencer C. Duncan Make It Count Foundation has been able to provide more than 450 book and tuition scholarships over the years since the founding of the foundation. In addition, more than 50 veterans have been able to experience an opportunity to participate in a program designed to assist them with PTS and other forms of trauma. The foundation has not provided a total of more than $750,000.00 in grants to organizations serving veterans.
Through more outreach and building the current network of donors and beneficiaries, the Spencer C. Duncan Make It Count Foundation will add more educational scholarships each year. The foundation will raise more funds to support even more veterans through the programs that will help them combat their struggles with PTS and other mental health concerns.
The foundation is hopeful to raise more funding to support these causes.
