Tuckahoe, NY   |  www.saintpiofoundation.org

Mission

The Saint Pio Foundation promotes the awareness of Saint Pio and his charism nationally and internationally by working with institutions and individuals, who share the same vision to serve those in need of relief from suffering. We raise funds to support healthcare, educational, social, religious, and cultural initiatives that influence and advance the public’s knowledge about the teachings, legacy, and importance of Saint Pio. We are active in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and soon in North Ireland. Among our initiatives is the Christmas Challenge that serves more than 10,000 low-income families in the most vulnerable areas of New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Washington, Philadelphia, Miami, Cleveland, Atlanta and New Orleans.

Tour of the authentic relics of Padre Pio

On February 2016, during the Holy Year of Mercy, the body of Saint Pio of Pietrelcina was exhibited in St. Peter's Basilica in Rome in accordance with Pope Francis' wishes. Following Pope Francis’ example and in honor of the 130th anniversary of Padre Pio’s birth and the 15th anniversary of his canonization, the Saint Pio Foundation organized the first official tour of the relics of Padre Pio in 2017. The tour visited eighteen archdioceses and dioceses in the United States.

To continue our work, the Saint Pio Foundation is organizing a special tour of the relics of Padre Pio for 2018 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Padre Pio’s passing. Not only will the relics will be made available for public veneration in about fourty archdioceses and dioceses across the United States, but the tour of the relics will also reach into Mexico and Canada.

The majority of those attending the tour of the relics of Padre Pio would never be able to travel to San Giovanni Rotondo or Pietrelcina to visit the places where our Saint was born, lived, and died. For that reason, we sponsor a tour of the relics each year to give hundreds of thousands of the faithful an opportunity to have a “spiritual encounter” with Padre Pio, to pray to him, and to ask for his intercession.
