What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Geology for Students
Elementary students from grades Kindergarten through 6th grade visits the museum to learn about fossils, how they are formed, where they are found, who found them, and why they are important enough to be preserved at the museum. The program is different for each grade.
Local History for High School Students
This program is a carryover program from a retiring history teacher who taught the history of towns impacted by the building of Tuttle Creek Reservoir.
Guest Speakers
The museum invites guest speakers to give a presentation about something pertaining to the surrounding areas. For example, a director of a county museum gave a presentation on the forming of the county; another speaker presented on the letters of a WWII veteran; another speaker presented on a rural town inundated by Tuttle Creek Reservoir, etc.
Art Workshops for Children
The curator of the museum is an artist. She hosts art workshops throughout the year.
Adult Coloring
Coloring books for adults is a huge trend at this time. The curator is an artist and she draws coloring pages for the adults to come and color. Coloring helps, especially older adults, with hand and eye coordination, helps to keep their minds sharp, and helps get them out of the house for some socialization.
