What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Arts-In-Education
This program provides music and arts education to low-income children who do not receive this training in their public schools. Snacks are provided and for some of the attendees it is often the only meal of the day.
New York Festival for Gifted Children
The festival is an intensive program that introduces children in low-income and underserved communities to music, art, dance and theater. We involve the children in all phases of producing a musical including writing the show, creating dance and music, set design, costuming, acting, etc.
Camp Superstar
Foundation for New American Art is actively improving the lives of children through our support of Arts-in-Education. We are fundraising for our Camp Superstar, a two-week program of intensive art, theater, dance, music, survival skills and camping for youth in New York State.
The Lower East Side Children's Chorus
The Let Every Child Sing Chorus is a nine-week fine arts and performance program. The program of song, dance, movement and musical songwriting collaboration culminated in a concert at The Theater for The New City Cino Theater Stage.

Part 1: PDF - Resources for Grandfamilies
We are writing a book to celebrate and support Grandparents who are raising their children's children. Grandparents step up to the plate when their child cannot responsibly raise a child due to mental health, addiction or incarceration.
• 2,562,000 children live with a relative with no parent present.
• 7,416,698 (10.1%) children under 18 live in homes where householders are grandparents or other
relatives.
We are writing a book of art projects, tech explanations, and emotional support for Grandparents who are running around all day trying to keep up with a toddler or young child.
If you know of a Grandparent raising a family who would like to be interviewed please write to [email protected]

Goals & Strategy
Learn about the organization's key goals, strategies, capabilities, and progress.
Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
We create, sponsor and host a variety of after-school arts education programs for underserved children attending public schools where the budgets for arts curriculum have been eliminated or drastically reduced.
Foundation for New American art is also dedicated to creating, producing and staging performances: we present music, art and cultural events to an audience that has very little access to cultural equity. The events we produce represent the cultural diversity and ethnic heritage of our targeted audiences. Our targeted population lacks an opportunity to experience culture they can identify with be it theater, entertainment, dance or music.
By presenting culturally educational entertainment in a lively, engaging experience for the community, we hope to advance not only an appreciation of culture but respect for diversity, inclusion, and equity.
Our objective is to inspire community members to see that their backgrounds, their legacies, family histories and identities have great value and meaning.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We provide opportunities for community members to experience concerts and plays as well as participate in seminars, workshops and discussion groups on the arts. Our strategy is to introduce cultural equity to the neighborhoods we serve. Our targeted communities have little or no access to artistic experiences. We invite the community to collaborate and tell their stories in the narratives we bring to life in the events we create and sponsor.
We also connect with local small businesses to ascertain their needs in building better relationships with their neighbors. Our strategy is to celebrate the communities we serve by incorporating their cultural history into our programs and to encourage individuals, small businesses and community groups to join collectively to foster, generate and advance diversity, equity and inclusion.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
