Our programs

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

One Family Campaign

Our Mission: To provide lasting relief, rehabilitation and development through shelter, life-skills training, opportunity, therapy, relationships, mentoring and Christ-centered support for single mother led families experiencing homelessness. We also work with families in Dane County providing coaching to obtain or keep employment. We focus on helping community members through the Community Development Block Grant from Dane County to remove barriers to sustainable, good paying employment that can stabilize households in our community.

Not just a "shelter": Our resident families can stay up to 12 months in a family suite while they re-build their lives and get to a place where they can move out and into permanent housing supporting themselves independently. The average family stay is 6 months. Our facility is SAFE and SECURE. Each family suite has a door that locks and the only people allowed in are residents, caseworkers, staff and volunteers.

We provide a strong foundation for a brighter future for each family that works our program. Our Case Manager and Opportunity Coach provide encouragement and work tirelessly to support our residents to achieve their goals to ensure they will earn a better income. Our Motors for MOMS program helps us repair people's vehicles to keep them road safe and reliable for transportation to get to and from work.

*96% of our families have exited our program successfully into permanent housing.
*100% of our Moms obtain a full-time job that pays enough to support their family.
*90% of the women who participate in the opportunity coach's finance/budgeting life skills training are able to raise their credit scores from the 400's to the 600's in the time they stay at the shelter.
