We seek to be the front door to services for people experiencing homelessness. A "one-stop-shop" to access needed resources, from basic respite services (meals, showers, laundry, supplies) to social, medical and mental health services and housing assistance programs.

By operating a low-barrier day shelter to meet people's basic needs in a safe, supportive environment, we are able to build relationships with some of our area's most vulnerable people, to help identify needed resources and connect them to programs that can help them get on the path to stable housing.

We operate at day shelter that serves close to 85 people daily. We have a full-time housing navigator that helps people access housing and housing assistance. We have two case managers to work with newly-housed people to make sure they are working on self-sufficiency goals. We administer funds the full-slate of local federal Housing First programs.

We use evidence-based evaluation tools. In our service area: From January 2010 to January 2017, chronic homelessness is down by 60%, veteran homelessness is down by 47%, the number of homeless individuals with severe mental illness has decreased by 62%, the number suffering from chronic substance use disorders is down 66% and those who are homeless and HIV+ have been reduced by 91%. In addition, The national standard for housing stability rates for Rapid Re-housing clients is 80%, and we are proud to report that last year, 94% of The Haven’s RRH clients remained stably housed for the year following the end of their rental subsidy.
