What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

Our mission is to provide essential midwifery care, education and training to empower the people of Dèsarmes; enabling them to provide for themselves and their children. Our desire is for women to live during childbirth and families to be offered opportunities for education and employment.

Our programs

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Adult Education

According to UNICEF, the literacy rate in Haiti is 48.7%. Many of the women in our programs are unable to read and write. We quickly realized we needed to do something. In April of 2015, we started the literacy program. The women gather three times a week for class.

Population(s) Served

The goal of the program is to educate and empower by creating entrepreneurs. The program will educate men and women on how to start a business, budgeting, customer service, etc.

Population(s) Served

Expectant mothers have the opportunity to attend a two-day class to learn about pregnancy and birth.

Population(s) Served

We currently have a partnership with the church's school to provide education and food to 150 children.
