Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

The Kalamazoo Poetry Festival's vision is a community where every voice is heard. To realize that vision, the Kalamazoo Poetry Festival connects people through the power of poetry. We believe poetry is for everyone. The Kalamazoo Poetry Festival provides opportunities for poetic expression; promotes learning through poetry; celebrates the diverse voices in our community; showcases experienced and emerging poets; promotes poetry as a vibrant and vital art form; and honors those keeping poetry alive in our community.

To reach our vision, mission, and goals, the Kalamazoo Poetry Festival presents a Festival every other year, and a Celebration of Community Poets in non-Festival years. We invite members of the talented Kalamazoo poetry community that represent the diversity of Kalamazoo to read, write, and perform poetry, conduct workshops, and meet guest poets presented by KPF.

We are an all-volunteer organization of committed poetry lovers with ties to the Kalamazoo community. We reach out to individuals, businesses, and grant-making organizations for support.

The Kalamazoo Poetry Festival has been popular, and we are expanding our offerings each year. We hope to create more partnerships with other local arts organizations to increase enthusiasm for poetry for the poetry-curious as well as the poetry-experienced.
