What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Hotline
Trans Lifeline’s Hotline is a peer support phone service run by trans people for our trans and questioning peers. Call us if you need someone trans to talk to, even if you’re not in crisis or if you’re not sure you’re trans. All calls are fully anonymous & confidential, and we do not engage in nonconsensual active rescue (calling 911, emergency services, or law enforcement).
Our hotline is staffed by the true experts on transgender experience, transgender people themselves. Our volunteers are all trans identified and educated in the range of difficulties transgender people experience. Our volunteers are dedicated to improving the lives of transgender people.

Microgrants
Microgrants provide trans and nonbinary people with low-barrier funds and support to correct names and/or gender markers on identifying legal documents, and supply necessities for our trans siblings behind bars.
Putting money directly into trans people’s hands is central to economic and racial justice, and our overall well-being. Redistributing funds draws inspiration from the principles of mutual aid: our support of each other is a political act.
75% of Name Change Microgrants go to trans BIPOC to dismantle barriers caused by white supremacy.
