What we aim to solve
Allie's Haven Animal Rescue is a 501-c-3 non-profit all volunteer organization that is dedicated to saving unwanted, abandoned, abused and neglected dogs in Texas. Our goal is to remove dogs from shelters where diseases are easily spread. We seem to constantly battle parvovirus, distemper, mange, emaciation, and severe orthopedic issues. We provide all necessary medical care to each dog, as needed. We then place them in private foster homes. This allows us to monitor the dog's personality to determine the best fit for his or her adoptive home, where they will become a permanent member of the family. Allie's Haven Animal Rescue also promotes proper pet ownership and supports spaying/neutering as a means to control unwanted pets.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Foster Homes
Allie's Haven Animal Rescue is an all volunteer non-profit organization that rescues dogs from the highest kill Texas shelters. Our rescued dogs live in private foster homes where they learn to transition as inside loved family until their permanent home is found thru our applications/adoptions approval process and matching of dogs with the most appropriate families.
Our foster homes work with our rescue dogs with their basic commands, crate training and potty training as well as leash training.
We also have a hospice foster program for the dogs that are terminal and we do not want to see euthanized in shelters but rather provide them with love and comfort until they let us know its time. This requires an experienced and emotionally strong foster to provide this service.
Adoptions
Allie's Haven Animal Rescue is an all volunteer non-profit organization that has very dedicated volunteers that process our adoption applications and match dogs to the most appropriate homes based on their temperament and personality. This process can take up to 2 weeks but we believe its a lifetime committment so it worth the work invested to ensure our dogs are adopted out with a minimal chance of being returned.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Our goal is to reduce the number of unwanted, abandoned, abused and neglected dogs in Texas.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We have a network of rescue groups that work together to
find a group that has room (or can make room) when someone finds a dog in need. This happens several
times a day. The need is so great. The Executive team decides if we have the ability to bring the dog into
Allie's Haven. There are transport teams that get the dog out of danger and to the vet for evaluation. There
are foster teams that find someone willing to foster the dog until it finds a permanent home. Fostering is so
much better than boarding because the dog is learning basic obedience and socialization skills. The Adoption
team finds responsible, loving homes for the dog. They check with the adopter's vet to make sure they are
responsible pet owners that stay current with vaccinations and follow up that the puppy was
spayed/neutered if it was too young at adoption.
The Executive team makes the decisions, along with the vet, on treatment plans. We have everything in
place to save as many dogs as we have money. But, we have to have funds available to commit to saving these
dogs' lives.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
We have a fairly large network of volunteers that are very committed to saving dogs' lives. We work with several vets throughout Texas that are committed to helping us work out treatment plans. We rescue approximately 200 dogs each year.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We have been able to help dogs survive and get adopted into a loving family. In turn that family wants to help other dogs get the same chance, so they often donate or volunteer. So, basically, we want to keep doing what we are doing. Increasing our donations, so that we can keep saving dogs.
