What we aim to solve
Millions of people around the world living with limb-loss do not have access to prosthetics care because it is costly and the global shortage of prosthetic clinicians. Due to intense social stigma in many developing countries against limb differences, those living with limb loss are often prevented from participating in society or making a living, and are sometimes subjected emotional and physical abuse.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
LimbForge wants to help people improve their social and financial situations with tools and training for clinicians to provide customized, high quality, low-cost upper-limb prosthetics for those with the most need. The unique technologies we use for manufacturing can be deployed in rural and underserved areas, and enable each patient to have a prosthetic that meets their individual needs: from matching skin color and size, through functional features that fit the activities of everyday life.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We focus on using technology and human-centered design to provide prosthetists easy tools that enable clinicians to develop exactly the of the right kind of prosthetic for each person, reducing the amount of time a prosthetist spends in the shop making devices, and frees them up to spend more time with their patients.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
We are a professional passionate group with extensive corporate experience in using software and 3D printing to effectively and efficiently to create customized items. We have deep partnerships with the academic and professional prosthetic organizations, as well as 3D Printing machine and material providers to constantly improve our processes and reduce costs. We continue to take a human approach, conducting data driven and rigorous research projects with real patients, and tracking and improving outcomes.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
So far we have a live proof of concept in Haiti, addressing the needs of earthquake victims, who have a high incidence of limb-loss. We've trained several clinicians, and enabled them to provide care and More than 20 patients received upper limbs. We've also begun studies in the Middle East, and have several limbs going through a rigorous testing and evaluation process with large global aid organizations.
