What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

Many families and individuals impacted by disability face difficult decisions when it comes to allocating the state and federal funding they receive, often having to sacrifice quality for quantity in the programs they seek. The demands of daily caregiving and planning also add complications such as emotional stress, unexpected medical bills, and even difficulty maintaining steady employment. On the other side, service providers to those impacted by disability face a lot of challenges in maintaining and growing their businesses. With consistent changes in state and federal funding, an ever-growing need to have a strong marketing presence, the challenge of providing adequate pay for talented staff, and limited time to spread, some agencies can get overwhelmed with everything on their plate on top of providing high caliber care.

We provide funds to supplement the payment for services such as respite care and community support as well as therapies like behavioral, physical, occupational, or speech therapy. This fund is designed to close the gaps that arise between the financial need for quality care and available assistance to pay for that care.

This one-time financial support exists for when an unexpected and substantial event threatens quality of life (ex: loss of job or income, inability to access living space, fire or natural disaster, etc.). Infinity not only raises funds for larger expenses, but takes donations of goods such as furniture, comfort and hygiene items, school supplies, or other things that may provide some financial or daily living relief during a family’s or individual’s difficult time.

There is a high need for quality agencies who believe in our mission of creating endless opportunities for those impacted by disability. We offer professional and capacity support to service provider agencies. We expand our network of quality agencies through referrals from families and individuals we serve. GoldStar Learning Options is our leading affiliated agency, but we work closely on donation capacity, marketing, and fundraising with each of our affiliated, quality program agencies.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Infinity Foundation wants to be a resource to circumvent some of those complications so that endless opportunities are within reach. By working with families and individuals directly as well as the agencies who provide quality programs and services, we hope to provide a holistic approach to the accessibility of services that can greatly impact those we serve for good.

Our main goal is to ensure quality, year-round services and programs are in our community are available to those who are impacted by disabilities. We want to accomplish this by raising money to provide direct financial assistance to the families and individuals in crisis and emergency situations. Infinity Foundation will also be working closely with its affiliate service providing agency, GoldStar Learning Options, INC for addition to the quality of their programs, whether it be providing quality sensory materials, activity materials, community outreach activities, and vocational support.

Our holistic approach has a number of moving parts, but here are the general ideas of how we can increase the access and affordability in working with both service providers in our community and the families and individuals we serve.

Direct financial assistance begins with an application process for support qualification. We review applications and financial statements provided by applicants, then contact their preferred service provider for more information on the costs of programs and the quality of services. Applicants do not need to utilize our affiliated agencies for services, but the majority of our applicants are referred to us through our affiliated agencies. Once reviewed and accepted, our applicant becomes a recipient, and a supportive and reasonable amount is agreed upon and given directly to the agency to cover that recipient's gap in funding specifically.

To help us create revenue for our funding wells and continue our work, we recruit affiliated agencies and provide services that help grow their business. These services include donation management, campaign and event projects for fundraising, grant writing, and professional development consultation for issues such as navigating Medicaid and program development.

Infinity Foundation's staff and board members have a collaborative mix of professional experience and expertise. Our directors bring years of business management, marketing, video production, and fundraising experience. Our board includes service providers and members of the community we serve to help guide us and make sure we are providing the best support possible.

The work that we do centers around communication, relationship building, and creative marketing. The services we provide combine previous expertise with the flexibility to find what works for each of our affiliated agencies. As we grow, hold more events, recruit more agencies to bring into our resource community, and create more connections our work reaches further.

We also have technical capabilities and planning protocols in place to execute our duties. Donor management software helps us segment donations and track communications for multiple agencies. We access various grant research programs to seek fitting grants for the programs and needs our agencies outline.

Infinity Foundation rebranded at the end of 2017, and since we have worked hard to solidify our brand and define our mission. In the beginning, we had planned to take a fully philanthropic approach in creating revenue that would go to providing the funding assistance for those we serve. In that time, we held our first fundraisers, launched donation campaigns, received a grant award for $36,000 for a transportation program with GoldStar Learning Options, and developed our operational aspects for awarding recipients funding assistance. The only agency we worked with during this time was GoldStar Learning Options, our original affiliated agency. We still work with GoldStar as our main affiliated agency, but found this philanthropic approach mixed with working with only one agency posed issues for growth and creating revenue.

In 2019, we soon realized an avenue of earned income was going to be necessary for our sustainability and growth. At the same time, we were exploring earned income options, an opportunity to partner with another agency, Megan's Place, arose. Megan's Place was looking for assistance with donation management and fundraising, and pretty soon the idea of being a non-profit partner with for-profit service providers clicked into place. We are in the beginning stages of making this plan a reality and excited to see our goals come to fruition.

2020 started out fantastically with the kick-off of our largest fundraiser of the year with our first Gala event. This event was raising money to support the summer programs with activity materials, sensory equipment, camperships to attend the camp for those who are not on a waiver for support, as well as support the community outing activities. After this event, the world was hit with an intense pandamic. Infinity was forced to cancel all in person events which had a major impact for our fundraising platform. We were still able to sustain and get through the pandemic without shutting down.

2021 we had still several challenges with the pandemic still continuing. We were able to go after some grant opportunities which we were able to support programs with many items to support during the pandemic which programs didn't have the opportunity for community outings or activities. We provided, soccer balls, basketballs, chalk, bubbles, bubble machines, hula hoops, sensory bean bags, chairs, swings, outdoor turf to be put on concrete, etc. We were able to start having in person events as of August 2021 in which we did have our first golf tournament and raised $25,000 which we were able to support programs with curriculum materials and assist several families in crisis situations in a desperate time in need.
