What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Families Choosing Compassion
FCC (Families Choosing Compassion) - A program under development for students and families that choose compassion over slaughtering animals raised for food. They must make the decision to cease raising animals for the food system, and commit to a volunteer schedule at the sanctuary to care for their surrendered farm animal or other animals here at the sanctuary.
The family will be required to go through an interview process, fill out intake forms, and be able to contribute towards the care of their animal if it is surrendered to the sanctuary.
Family members of the student will also be required to participate in the process.
Since the program is still in its infancy we are still developing the details, but it will also include an annual celebration, and an education component to help the child and the family transition to a vegan diet within 90 days of starting the program.
Rancher Advocacy Program
To provide resources and guidance to ranchers who are ready to move in the direction of a lifestyle of compassion towards farm animals; and life-affirming choices and business practices.
The Rancher Advocacy Program is a result of the founder’s personal experiences with ranchers and their families that have contacted her to have a dialogue regarding how we have converted our former ranching operation in Texas, and how they too might transition their ranch from using animals for profit, to caring and saving them while determining other ways to make a living on the same land.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Our vision is to create a palpable atmosphere of communion and acceptance where farm animals, visitors, volunteers, and like minds from across the United States and the world will be drawn to experience our transition from a Texas beef cattle ranch to a vegan farm animal sanctuary. Once here, our purpose will broaden to open all hearts, minds and souls to a vegan lifestyle, the horrors of factory farming, plant based food options, and the devastating impact of animal agriculture on the environment. Our goal is to produce many more animal sanctuaries transitioning from Texas beef cattle ranches to vegan farm animal sanctuaries. Rowdy Girl Sanctuary, Inc. opens its arms to help all farm animals bound for slaughterhouses across the country.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We educate students and families in the Future Farmers of America and 4-H Animal Ag Sciences programs in schools. Many kids and family members contact us when they are traumatized by the eventual outcome of their "project" going to slaughter. We have a program called Families Choosing Compassion whereby families can surrender their animal to us and come see them and volunteer anytime they wish.
We also have the Rancher Advocacy Program which inspires and educates animal farmers and cattle ranchers to transition out of animal agriculture into plant based farming. We have an annual virtual event called the RAP Summit where we broadcast internationally to answer the main question "what can farmers do on their land to thrive without using animals" and provide solutions from experts.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Our cattle ranch in Texas was the first cattle ranch in the world to transition and go vegan. Since then our story has been featured in multiple news media outlets, including CBS Evening News, Animal Planet, ABC's More in Common, Southwest Airlines Magazine, LiveKindly, and more. The Rowdy Girl / RAP story is the focus of a major documentary that will be released in 2023. We know that our story alone has caused several cattle ranchers to transition and go vegan. Our story's potency and influence is our greatest capability. We have significant reach on social media. Our RAP (Rancher Advocacy Program) attracted 500 registrants from several countries in 2021.
