Global Collaboration Lab Network

Engaging the Next Generation

aka Co Lab   |   ARLINGTON, VA   |  https://www.globalcolab.net/

Mission

The Global Co Lab Network is a virtual “do tank” that empowers inter-generational engagement focused on teens and millennials, incubating initiatives out of carefully designed informal gatherings such as living room "Co-Labs", utilizing mindfulness and design lab philosophies. Teens Dream is a project where teens globally are engaged on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals with a video contest and virtual teen-led rooms where action happens, called Dream Hubs. The Eco Teen Action Network builds on this focus as a collaboration with the Smithsonian focused on building a network of teen action addressing hunger, climate change, and consumption and production.

What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

The Global Co Lab Network curates resources to help youth be change-makers, intentionally focusing on discrete problems to be solved, action-oriented solutions, and networking around teen and millennial oriented solutions. The "Co-Lab" does this working in small living room gatherings it calls Co-Labs and has designed a template based on hosting 50 Co-Labs for others to use. Co-Labs are utilized to then bring people together in virtual hubs to move deeper for action based collaboration. The goal is to create teen or millennial led initiatives at the local level anywhere in the world. Two initiatives have been developed - Teens Dream and Eco Teen Action Network, where teens are engaging locally and globally on action regarding the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
