Taking a Stand for Music in Schools!

Chandler, AZ   |  https://www.keepchildrenrockin.org

Mission

We believe that music is critical for our cultural heritage. Many children are losing music class in school and they cannot fight themselves to keep those classes running. At Keep Children Rockin, we provide donations to underfunded elementary and middle school music programs.

Programs and results

What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

There is a SERIOUS problem in the world these days: public school budgets are being cut which is forcing cornered administrators to drop arts programs; particularly the music programs. If we let this continue, in a few decades there will be fewer and fewer inspired young musicians and radio will be dominated by talk programming.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

We imagine a future where one can turn on the radio and still hear music.

We formed Keep Children Rockin to take an official stand for youth music programs in schools. The charity provides donations to underfunded elementary and middle school music classes.

We have an annual music festival to drive donations. From there, we reach out to music programs individually and get their music equipment/repair needs. Then, we buy what we can for them! We will also re-home working music equipment that was donated from the local music scene.

We've been doing this annual festival and resulting round of donations successfully since 2015, impacting more and more schools in more cities every year. Our founder has been a small business owner since 2008, so those skills are absolutely used for Keep Children Rockin.

Since 2015, we have donated over $20,000 worth of music equipment and repairs to over 20 different youth music programs across Arizona.

For each city we have the festival in, we try to make more and more of an impact each year.

1st year: 1 school
2nd year: 3 schools
3rd year: 5+ schools
4th year: 10+ schools
5th year and beyond: 20+ schools

Eventually, we will have to leave Arizona and take our program to other states, which we are excited for :)
