What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Macon New Beginnings aims to help those in imminent danger of becoming homeless stay in their homes and overcome their crisis circumstance. For those who are homeless we provide shelter and help with a hand up not a hand out. In all cases we attempt to help build their support networks.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Our strategies include cultivating partnerships with organizations and agencies to build capacity and focus resources. Through grass-root organizing we strive develop and grow networks of volunteers. We focus on develop relationships with clients to build their dignity, self-worth and share hope.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Our capabilities include organizational drive and determination to make a difference. Our agility and flexibility allow us to adapt to our clients unique circumstances. Our organizational skills and management techniques allow us to facilitate the knowledge, skills and abilities of our rural community to its best.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We have been: establishing credibility in our community; building funding sources and support networks; and working with the rural community in developing long-term strategic solutions that address our homeless challenge. We still have to work on: increasing volunteer participation; increasing funding sources; and building relationship networks.
