Our programs

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Life After Caregiving

There are certain situations where are caregivers cannot safely remain in the home with their injured Veteran due to child abuse, physical abuse or emotional abuse. Often the Caregiver has no source of income as he/she has been providing care to the Veteran and is unemployed. The Life after Caregiving program will assist with finding resources in the Caregivers area to assist with re-location and financial planning along with offering emergency shelter or travel payments. Copy of a police report is required.

Population(s) Served

Operation Housekeeping is designed for the Caregiver that A. need assistance with household chores during transition or B. suffers a medical injury/surgery and cannot provide a clean environment for their family or veteran due to such emergency. HH6 will cover the cost of a weekly cleaning of up to 4 weeks with recommendation from a certified physician.

Population(s) Served

The HH6 closet connects Caregivers and Children in need of clothing with other veteran families who are able to donate new or gently used clothing in similar sizes for both the Caregiver and Child. In most cases these items are provided by one of our partners (Gorgo’s Boxes). In rare cases where no other families can meet the needs of the request, HH6 will purchase new or gently used items to meet the need.

Population(s) Served

Currently the United States is facing a tragic epidemic of losing 22 Veterans and approximately 1 Active Duty Service Member to suicide every single day. More often than not the family members left behind are left without any life insurance or payouts from the Department of the Veterans Affairs or Department of the Defense, creating a sudden loss of income. When this happens HH6 will award an automatic payment to applicants based on available funds. As donations are constantly changing for this fund please contact us immediately and directly.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Our goal is to alleviate household tension between the Veteran and his/her family. Quality of life for many injured veteran families is poor. We hope to restore hope and balance through a variety of programs geared to lessen the burden and stress of the caregiver.

-Reduce financial burdens by assisting Caregivers with emergency needs and financial planning.
-Reduce physical burn out of transitioning families with severe injuries by providing cleaning services and resources.
-Reduce IPV by providing relocation assistance to Caregivers' who are in domestic violence situations.
-Reduce overall stress by providing peer support through a number of online support groups.
-Reduce financial burdens for Widows of Veteran Suicide.
-Reduce physical and emotional abuse in the homes of veterans and their families by offering veterans tools to change abusive behaviors.

-Financially assist Caregivers with emergency utility assistance.
-Provide Caregivers and children with immediate needs such as clothing.
-Work with area Domestic Violence shelters to obtain transitional housing to relocate Caregivers in IPV relationships.
-Provide payments for cleaning services.
-Provide peer support through three online support groups. Transition assistance, divorce assistance and widow assistance.
- Refer caregivers to retreats, counseling and wellness programs to prevent caregiver burnout and save marriages/families before IPV is reached.
