Supporting Animal Rescue in East and Southeast Asia
Programs and results
What we aim to solve
We aim to reduce the suffering of animals in East and Southeast Asia--regions not typically associated with advanced animal rights--by supporting organizations in those regions that actively rescue, shelter and rehome abused and abandoned animals. We aim to contribute to the reduction or cessation of industries in those regions that contribute to that suffering of animals by supporting organizations in those regions best placed and able to engage with society and law-makers to change public opinion and legislation.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Support Rescue & Adoption of Abused & Abandoned Animals in East & Southeat Asia
We support animal rescue and shelter organizations in East and Southeast Asia that undertake the following activities as their primary focus:
- Rescuing and sheltering abused and abandoned animals
- Trapping, neutering, and releasing (TNR) stray and feral animals
- Rehoming rescued and sheltered animals
We provide fiscal sponsorship for animal rescue and shelter organizations in East and Southeast Asia, allowing them to accept tax-deductible donations from the United States.
We handle donation collection and management, issuing of tax receipts, and disbursements, enabling our fiscally sponsored projects to get on with what they do best; rescuing animals in need.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
By focussing on East and Southeast Asia, we bring attention to the plight of animals in these regions of the world in which animal rights are lagging behind those of, and to which often very little attention is paid by, more developed countries. We aim to reduce the suffering of animals, and contribute towards efforts to bring about the end of industries that cause that suffering, by supporting animal rescue and shelter organizations in those regions.
We also aim provide US citizens who are immigrants, or the descendants of immigrants, of countries in those regions a way to support the rescue, shelter, and rehoming of animals, and improvements to animal rights, in their countries of origin, while enjoying the tax benefits of donating in the US.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We will research and source suitable organizations that we feel will forward our mission, and who can make a bigger impact in their respective countries as a result of being supported by us.
To get our message out to potential donors we will use social media technologies and analytics, and take advantage of US Giving Days appropriate for our mission. We will monitor animal rights and welfare incidents in East and Southeast Asia and publish opinion pieces regarding them.
The board of directors will cultivate relationships with for-profit organizations to solicit corporate donations and matching programs for their staff. They will also cultivate relationships with the leaders of other nonprofit organizations in order to identify and develop opportunities for collaboration.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Two of the Board Members have been active in the animal rights field for over twenty years combined. They will use their connections and considerable experience to initiate and cultivate relationships with other nonprofit organizations and for-profit organizations to identify and develop collaboration opportunities. In addition to this, two of the Board Members and a senior staff member all have extensive experience in Asia, having lived there for significant portions of their lives.
Senior staff understand the importance of and are conversant with, technologies that can assist in getting the message out. There are already systems in place that can take advantage of integrations to automate many of the routine information flow and information management tasks. These systems will easily scale as the organization grows.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Currently, as we have just pivoted to the new organizational focus, little has been accomplished according to the new mission. However, we feel we have identified a gap in the animal rights field of operation that will be successfully filled by our involvement.
The next priority is to both establish our authority and credibility in the new niche we have chosen to occupy, and obtain Sponsored Projects in a number of countries in the regions in which we operate.
