Celebrating Homeless Children One Birthday At A Time
Programs and results
What we aim to solve
Little Birthday Angels is a 501c3 nonprofit organization providing birthday gifts and celebrations for homeless children on the Treasure Coast.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Shelter Birthday Program
Little Birthday Angels provides birthday gifts, decorations, games/activities, goody bags, and the management for everything needed to execute monthly parties for homeless children residing in 4 local shelters and 2 organizations.
Birthday Bags of Hope
For homeless children not living in a shelter, we connect with the school district's homeless advocate. They share with us the name, age, gender, and birthday. We provide a large duffle bag, lap desk, toiletries, socks, wrapped gifts, a bible, and other essential items for each child. Placing everything into a duffel bag gives them something to keep their personal items in, and provides privacy for them. Everything is delivered to the child by the school's homeless advocate.

Context Notes
The decreased metric in 2020 was due to COVID-19 and the barriers with being in physical contact within the schools & shelters. We are now serving additional schools late 2020 projecting an increase.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Little Birthday Angels provides birthday gifts, birthday parties, and essential items to homeless children on the Treasure Coast. The impact that we have on a child's life can change the course of their future. We love and celebrate each child as God intended us to. There are still so many children that are not being reached. Our goal is to continuing adding schools and shelters until we are celebrating the birthday of every homeless child on the Treasure Coast of Florida.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Our relationships with Indian River County and St. Lucie County school districts have prepared us for the number of students that we can add to the school program as funding is increased. The acquisition of additional space for our school programs and party bags allows for the opportunity to continue growth and welcomes community involvement.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
We have acquired additional space to allow for higher quantities of inventory to add more schools to the program. This new space has created an inviting opportunity for volunteers to be involved in lead roles within our programs. An inventory system has been implemented to prepare for additional units and current accurate asset counts. Strategies have been implemented to create the best systems and routines to optimize time management and efficiency allowing for the additional workload that comes with program growth.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Currently we serve 4 shelters, 30 schools, and one field agency partners. Our short term goal is to add the remaining schools in Indian River County followed by the remaining schools in St. Lucie County thereafter. In the future our long term goals include adding additional shelters in surrounding counties and adding pre-K to the school programs.
