What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Foster to Adoption
The uniqueness of this program is in the fostering of puppies and dogs. The foster families provide the added benefit of observing puppies for medical and behavioral issues, and socialize them with their own dogs, cats and young family members. The foster families are required to crate train puppies prior to them becoming “adoption candidates,” so the puppy’s new family is one step ahead of the game toward integration into their new home. The foster arrangement reduces stress and provides the ability to more realistically assess the personality of the puppy, and provide a better matching of puppy to family.
Frequently puppies in this program are rescued out of difficult living conditions, and require medical care. Lisa Parker’s Puppies receives support from a local veterinarian, Aspen Tree Animal Caring Center, in order to provide a healthy puppy to their new owners. Lisa Parker, along with the support of foster families and behavioral professionals, Stacked Rock Kennels, Kimberly Kincaid, provide support for medical and behavioral rehabilitation. Since beginning work in 2014, LPP has placed over 300 animals within our program and transferred over 100 more to the safety of other rescues.
