Volunteer Network OC
Helping you help others.
Programs and results
What we aim to solve
We are working to address two problems on a singular platform. First, there are many people who do not wish to volunteer or who would volunteer but find it difficult to locate volunteer opportunities. Our platform encourages volunteering and then makes it easy to find and sign up for volunteer opportunities. Second, there are many disadvantaged people in our community who need a hand. Our platform allows charitable organizations to post volunteer opportunities to serve these people. Through our mobile app, users and organizations can find and post volunteer opportunities in less than a minute. It is volunteering made easy!
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Volunteer community involvement
The specific purpose of Volunteer Network OC is to assist both volunteers and charitable organizations who are interested in making a difference in the lives of individuals and families who are in need. Whether their need is for shelter, food, clothing and other necessities, and to carry on other charitable and educational activities associated with this goal.
Our objective is to bridge the gap between volunteers who want to help but aren’t sure where to start, and to support organizations who need volunteers but don’t know where to find them. Through our website, user-friendly app, and social media platform, we aim to inspire and connect these volunteers to the organizations who help feed, clothe, and shelter disadvantaged and vulnerable people in Orange County.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Our goal is to be the bridge between people who want to volunteer but don’t know where to start and qualifying charitable organizations that need volunteers. We aim to inspire volunteers and provide support to the organizations that feed, clothe, and shelter disadvantaged and vulnerable people in Orange County. And, it’s all free! We do not charge either the charitable organizations or users to use our program.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Our strategy is to use social media and direct contact to encourage both qualifying charitable organizations and members of our community to download our proprietary mobile app and begin making connections. Our social media presence includes a dynamic interactive website – ww.volunteernetworkoc.org, Facebook – VolunteerNetworkOC, Twitter – VolunteerNetOC, and Instagram – VolunteerNetworkOC. We actively communicate with the public on all these sites.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
The sky is the limit. Our platform was built to handle an unlimited number of charitable organizations and users. It was also built to allow for expansion of services to the member charitable organizations (discussed below).
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Our mobile app was launched in August, 2019. In the first 9 months of service, we have registered 11 charitable organizations and over 400 volunteers. We have provided volunteers to over 55 events for disadvantaged people in our community.
We are currently planning phase II of our mobile app, which will provide our registered charitable organizations with volunteer management tools. Once phase II is complete, our registered charitable organizations will be able to efficiently manage and track volunteers and their hours, categorize volunteers by skillset, and send push notices to volunteers meeting their volunteer needs.

- We have long-term strategic plans and measurable goals for creating a culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
- We engage everyone, from the board to staff levels of the organization, in race equity work and ensure that individuals understand their roles in creating culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
