Goals & Strategy

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Develop and nurture multiple sites throughout the Greater Philadelphia and Camden regions to help feed the food insecure communities in the region, and help connect them to social service organizations partnering with Muslims Serve. Through this major goal Muslims Serve hopes to help eradicate hunger in the region while also helping uplift the communities out of their depressed economic, social, and psychological situations.

Muslims Serve's strategy plan has multiple facets in its extensive strategic plan handbook which include, but are not limited to Marketing, Communication, Volunteer Development, Management, and Risk/Opportunity Analysis.

The Marketing and Communication plan would target 3 major groups: donors, volunteers, and beneficiaries. The donors and volunteers will be targeted via social media campaigns, dinners, local event booths, and fundraising events. In addition, volunteers will be targeted with lectures at local schools and religious institutions. Our beneficiaries will be targeted by word of mouth community endeavors, posters situated in community buildings, and information given out at feeding events.

Volunteer and Manager Development would consist of team building and enrichment activities/seminars throughout the year, which would include outdoor feeding regulations, mental health awareness, leadership, fundraising, and social media discussions.

Management and Risk/Opportunity Analysis will be performed using SWOT analysis to determine overall strategy and form teams to improve problems and risks.

Muslims Serve is projected to meet its goal and continue to expand its sites in the next two years. It has multiple committed sites at which monthly free food programs have been consistently operating for greater than 2 years. Muslims Serve is also working on developing a comprehensive list of social service organizations in the region for possible partnerships at sites that are already operating and those that will be added on.

Muslims Serve distributes free, hot meals from 12 sites throughout the region. Goal is to increase that number in the next year.

Muslims Serve has reached its yearly fundraising goal and has added plans to start looking for its own building and funding sources through grants and donors.

The organization sites all are now required to have food safety permits and several already have obtained them.

The Operations team is fully functional and efficient with need for more volunteers to help on a monthly basis. The Volunteer management team is looking for a team leader and will be revamping its volunteer recruitment strategies. Marketing team will be outsourced to an organization for outreach purposes.
