What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

God's Garage recognizes that one of the most effective means for elevating people out of poverty is to provide access to reliable transportation in order to get to meaningful jobs. Additionally, by providing life skills training in budgeting, single-parenting, job interviewing and basic car maintenance, individuals are better equipped to face life's challenges with confidence and hope. Our success has led to an increase in eligible applicants to over 3,000. To address this backlog, God's Garage is focused on increasing its volunteer base, improving operating efficiencies, expanding repair center capabilities and increasing training frequency.

GOD'S GARAGE CAReS

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Within the next five years, God's Garage is aiming to triple its throughput of donated and restored vehicles for clients without vehicles. At the same time, we desire to triple the number of vehicle repairs for clients with vehicles but without a repair budget. This goal will take us to 450 vehicles gifted and 450 client-owned vehicles repaired. God's Garage will also expand its training seminars from one to two weekends per month.

To address the backlog of clients on our waiting lists, God's Garage has initiated a capital campaign (Fueling Futures) to raise $1.2 million for the construction of an all-in-one administration/automotive repair center, creation of paved parking areas, and support of operating expenses during the build out. We are also accelerating the recruitment of volunteers, campaigning for increased numbers of vehicle donations and requesting additional contributions of repair parts by local suppliers. By expanding our community outreach, we hope to engage more partners in our area.

God's Garage is currently working with an outside consultant to assist with our capital initiative to raise building and operating funds. We've also hired a new executive director to help us improve operating efficiencies, increase media exposure, connect with additional supporting foundations and link us with new partner churches, etc.

God's Garage just kicked off its capital initiative, which will run through the end of 2021. Our ground breaking ceremony with major donors, civic officials and community leaders was held in May, with a follow-on Vision Preview Night for our volunteers and friends in June. We are currently hosting influencer gatherings to help educate potential supporters regarding the needs of our organization. To date, God's Garage has raised $200 thousand in its initiative efforts.
